About the Author

Dr. Kenneth Monaghan PhD is a lecturer and director of the ‘Neuroplasticity Research Group (NRG)’ in Atlantic Technological University, Sligo Ireland. As an academic, a researcher and a rehabilitation specialist, he has worked at multiple levels in the education and healthcare systems. Under his leadership, the NRG has been awarded $2 million in funding, published 35 peer reviewed papers, and his first 5 PhD students graduated between 2019-2023. Dr. Monaghan believes that the home can allow stroke survivors to carry out the necessary repetitive practice required for recovery. He is passionate to give caregivers the confidence, direction and programs to allow physical recovery occur after stroke.
